As an Art Odyssey Arizona volunteer you’ll work with k-6 students using art work and art supplies as a conduit for them to learn and expand upon how to use observational, analytical and critical reasoning skills in their lives.

How long is the training program and what does it entail?
The training program starts out with attendance at one of our bi-annual training lunches and informational sessions. At the meeting, volunteers are provided with all they need to know about volunteering with Art Odyssey Arizona. Following the meeting, volunteers –in-training sign up to observe and assist with art explorations in the classrooms.
What volunteer opportunities are available with Art Odyssey Arizona?
How many hours do volunteers commit to each year?
Most volunteers donate Art Odyssey Arizona 10-20 hours of their time each year. Volunteering with Art Odyssey Arizona is very flexible and volunteers select their own hours.
How long do the classroom presentations last?
Presentations last 45 minutes to an hour, but volunteers should plan on two hours total, as set-up and clean-up take some time.
Where do I get the materials to prepare for volunteering in the classroom?
Lesson plans and informational resources are on the password protected portion of our website, accessible to trained volunteers. Materials for art creation are brought to volunteers 1-2 days before the presentation.
Do I need an art background to volunteer with Art Odyssey?
No art background is required. We provide you with everything you need to have a successful volunteer experience.
